Preschool

In the Warwick Learning Centers Preschool class, we provide an atmosphere that encourages social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth through the children's play and small group instruction.

Our goals in this class include assisting your child with social and emotional development, including
  • A healthy sense of self
  • Responsibility
  • Pro-social behavior,
  • Fine and gross motor development
  • Thinking skills needed for primary school
Cognitive development centers around learning and problem solving, logical thinking, representation and symbolic thinking. Language skills are reinforced with listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Classrooms are set up in educational learning centers designed to encourage the children to make choices and decisions on their own.

The curriculum includes dramatic play, creative art activities, music, science activities, cooking experiences, computer instruction, block play, sand and water experiences, field trips throughout the community, daily outdoor activities and the celebration of birthdays and holidays.  Children will be exposed to shapes, colors, numbers and letters through developmentally appropriate activities taught using small group instruction. Parent participation for certain class topics is requested.

Each classroom teacher creates a detailed lesson plan each week based upon the unit of study that the classroom is working on.

The Preschool program is an intensive academic environment.  Participating in the full session enables each child to take advantage of all that is being taught.

Warwick Learning Centers provides breakfast, lunch, and a snack as part of our meal program.

Parents are responsible for providing a blanket for nap time (we provide a nat mat) and to supply a complete change of clothing.
